Salutations, Wanderers!

We’re excited to introduce the second edition of our beloved Wandering Spirit Tarot Deck, Moonlit Path!

The outpouring of love and support that followed the original Wandering Spirit Tarot Kickstarter campaign was above and beyond anything we could have imagined. As a thank you to all of our fans and supporters, we’ve designed a new edition of this beautiful deck.

Where the first edition had a “Gold & Galaxy” theme, this new version’s theme will be “Silver & Black.” Also, all Major Arcana cards have been remastered in silver.

As an extra special treat, an all-new set of Major Arcana cards will also be included - that means you’ll be getting two sets of the Major Arcana! We’ll be revealing the designs for the additional Major Arcana set every 2 weeks.

We’re dedicated to producing the best quality cards using top-notch materials. Not only do we want the cards’ designs to appear crisp and crystal clear, but we want to make sure each and every card has a textured and comfortable hand feel.

Unfortunately, low-quality bootleg copies of Wandering Spirit’s first edition have been widely produced and sold online by disreputable sellers. To ensure your Wandering Spirit deck is both authentic and of the highest quality, and to support Haenuli directly, please purchase your deck squarely from us.

Artist introduction

My name’s Haenuli, but most people know me as Nunu. I’m the creator of The Girl and The Skeleton, two characters that came to life while I battled depression.

It’s hard when a friend dies, especially at a young age. When three of my closest friends died within a month of each other, I didn’t know how to handle it. My grief was compounded with more grief as death took everyone important to me. The fragility of life was never more apparent; losing the cornerstones of my life went from a simple fear to cold reality.

So I escaped into the world I know best - art. I went to an art high school, majored in it in college, and had the luck to be able to use my talent and skill to create my lolita fashion brand. Despite everything, however, darkness continued to follow me. I couldn’t free myself from it.

We must all deal with death throughout our lives. Artwork dealing with the subject is filled with messages and metaphors, some different, some overlapping. Such art became the key to releasing the shadow that constantly burdened me.

So I sketched, drew, and uploaded images to Facebook. That’s when I learned there are countless others with their own stories of pain and loss searching for their own freedom. The images I created were a way for me to grapple with my own loss, but they also connected with others who were facing their own battles; those who showed the world a smile while hiding the void in their heart.

And so I decided to continue to make art of these characters. I shared it online and watched as it spread. Before long, I had made enough to put together a graphic novel. When I incorporated it into a dress design, it became the most popular one I ever made. I don’t like offering the same dress designs again, but this one I had to. Even the darkness can provide comfort.

The Skeleton

The personification of Nunu’s depression, which she spent years attempting to run from and ignore. After she stopped running, Nunu embraced the Skeleton and was surprised to find comfort in the sadness.

When creating the character, Nunu tried to leave details a bit vague so others could connect as well. Some see the Skeleton as their friend, their lover, a family member, or someone else close to their heart who they have lost. This ambiguity has allowed the Skeleton to be who anyone needs it to be. While the Skeleton appears as a separate being, it’s still nothing but our very human bones - something within us all.

The Girl

When you clearly show a person’s face, it can define who they are. The girl, the maiden, the personification of love, of life, or even of death—whatever we wish to call her, she cannot be defined as a single entity. At times the Girl is you, at others, she’s me. Sometimes it’s hard to think of ourselves, so we need a substitute, someone to intercede on our behalf.

The Girl brings a bit of light to the darkness, illuminating a chance at hope. Seeing her vulnerability, her connection with the Skeleton, and her ability to openly address her sadness, is a source of comfort and an avenue for the release of our pain and suffering. As the Girl faces what she most feared, she can clearly see it for what it is and can finally find some peace.

Having stopped running from her depression, the Girl found solace in its presence. The Skeleton was not to be feared, and the sadness it represented could even be a comfort. While depression can be a lonely place, it’s never a place we are truly alone. We all have a Skeleton, we all are the Girl. Always together, the Girl and the Skeleton will never be apart, even when laid to rest. Just as our own bones are part of us, holding us up, and helping us move forward.

Have you ever had your fortune told through Tarot? While you could always visit a fortune teller, it’s also possible to perform a reading yourself. With some practice, you can divine your own fortune and even give readings to friends and family. Not only can you provide guidance for yourself, but also for those you care about.

A Tarot deck is composed of numerous symbols, each with their own meaning, as a method of providing guidance. Everyone has questions and concerns in their daily life. At times, it can be hard to see an answer. While a Tarot reading won’t reveal your inevitable future, it can open your mind to possibilities you may have overlooked. Tarot can help relieve your worries through a glimpse at your past, present, and future through a different lens.

A Tarot reading can provide direction and provide advice which can lead you to a more positive outcome. Multiple readings can give clarity and insight into yourself and to others, and help you achieve your goals.

Universal Rider-Waite Tarot Deck

While the artwork is new, the Wandering Spirit Tarot Deck is based on the universally accepted Rider-Waite Tarot. As the meanings and symbols are standardized, the deck can be interpreted both by those who are new to Tarot and those who are professional readers. The deck is composed of 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana cards.

The size of the cards are standard for ease of incorporating Wandering Spirit with other decks. The cards are 120 mm × 70 mm (2.75” × 4.76”) and printed on sturdy 300 gsm high quality paper.
